Our 2024 Service/Super Trip will be to The Philippines!

You will not need a visa, however, a Passport will be required.  If you do not have one yet, please start looking into getting one now.  The trip is going to be split into three purposes.  The first, and the one where the most time will be spent is on service.  We are looking into many different service opportunities but what we are looking at includes medical care, building/repairing homes, teaching English classes to adults, teaching theatre classes in schools to kids, and many others.  The second purpose is history.  The Philippines is home to a lot of awesome World War II history.  On the trip, we will visit Bataan, the Cabanatuan POW Camp, travel along the Bataan Death March Trail, go to the American World War II Cemetery, the Capas Shrine (monument park to the Bataan Death March), and more.  The third purpose is to have some fun!  We will spend a couple of nights at a beach resort playing in the famous white sand, going to Ocean Adventure Park, and a whole lot more!

The cost for this trip will be TBD plus airfare!

This cost will include the following (subject to change):

The cost does not include:

Airfare can cost anywhere between $800 and $1600 depending on where you depart from across the country.  It is the least expensive from LAX where a round trip flight currently costs between $740-$1200 depending on airline etc.  Airfare from Salt Lake City looks to be in the $1200-$1500 range however you can get a fairly cheap round trip to LAX for only $100-$200 and take advantage of that cheaper ticket. (THIS IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED) While you look for flights, keep in mind that you need to arrive at Manila International Airport (MNL) sometime between 3:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, and depart anytime during the day on Friday, May 31.  Because of the International Date Line and time change, you will likely have to leave on the evening of May 21 or early morning of May 22 to arrive in the correct time frame. If you would like help booking flights, OR to book your child on the same flight with another participant, please e-mail Brother Long at jordanlong@liahonaed.com

Souvenirs and food are super inexpensive in The Philippines.  I would budget probably $75-$250 total for the entire trip for dinners and souvenirs.

WE ARE STRICTLY LIMITING THIS TRIP!  In order to register, please fill out the Google form that was sent in an email.

After we received it, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.  When you receive that, you must call the office and pay the $500 down payment per participant.  YOUR SPOT WILL NOT BE SAVED UNTIL YOU PAY.

There are no required vaccinations however, it is recommended to obtain Malaria and Typhoid shots.

Anyone who is currently a Liahona student, alumni, staff member, or family of any is invited to attend.

Please note, if you are a parent or other adult 21 or older coming with us, we may ask you to help in the capacity of a chaperone on the trip.
