We want to say thank you for the wonderful (Super) trip. We had such a good time and we learned so much. We appreciate that you allowed us to bring our young children and come as a family. We hope that the time will come when our little boys have the opportunity to go on their own super trips. Our family knows all too well that you don't always get the opportunities or the tomorrows that you think you will. We try to take advantage of every opportunity for our children to learn now, and not wait for the future. We are so thankful for this opportunity, it was a great one.
We also wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for a fantastic school. We have always been very involved in our children's education. We know that we can provide what our children need in the way of academics. What we can't give them is a place where they can be involved in so many extracurricular activities, interact with good friends, and have a safe place to learn. Our daughter is happy in school. She wants to be there, and she loves it. Academics are very important to us, but an environment where our children can be happy and love learning, combined with great academics is priceless. It truly does take a special kind of person to educate children. It takes a very, very, special person to educate teenagers. Thanks for everything. Sincerely,
Orem, UT

Liahona inspires kids to dress well, to get good grades, and to do well in school because learning is fun and interesting. Liahona teaches kids discipline by helping them discover and accept who they are and catch a vision of what they can become. Then, Liahona encourages and motivates them to innovate, to dream big, and strive to achieve their goals.
You may not even know that this is what you are doing, but it is! The example that you and Brent give is where it begins and it trickles down from there through the staff and to the students. You’ve created an amazing culture that and that is what is so contagious. You’re creating a generation of entrepreneurs who will be tomorrow’s leaders, tomorrow’s employers; they’re going to shape our future. Way to go! Thank you!!!

I just want to take a minute to say Thank You for the time, effort and zeal that you put into your work for your students at home and throughout the world. I understand a bit on how hard it is to put the feelings and passion that is in one's heart out in such a way that hopefully this generation can understand it an have it impact their lives in such a way that they make some key decisions in their own lives...Thank You for the time and effort you do in preparing your classes. I am edified a lot and always taught.

I'm a Freshman DE student and I love your class so much!! I used to hate history and everything about it because I did it by the textbook. *Yawn* I remember when I was younger that I would get so bored by history that I fell asleep on the book and got my face stuck to the pages. I also wanted to thank you for sharing so many important past and current events with us. My public schooled friends, other parents, and my seminary teacher are always so amazed with how much I know about what's going on and what has already happened.

Just a positive note from a grateful mom...
I was completely overwhelmed with educating my 2 teens and 2 elementary
students until I found your school. Not only are you lightening my load,
but your teachers are everything I hoped for. They excel at balancing
temporal education with its spiritual applications. Thank you for being a
blessing in our lives. I'm certain my two younger children will enjoy your
classes when they are old enough.
Thank you for all your efforts,
Texas

I have thought a lot about Liahona lately and my heart fills to overflowing when I realize the education you have given my children and even sad to say myself! Its because of you that our whole family are better people with a very much expanded view of our country and our Heavenly Father's plan in every event that has taken place. Its amazing when its taught in truth how it makes so much sense and theres a true desire to learn not a required one. That is so rewarding to us as parents to know that our children don't just go through the pains of school like I did, they actually love to learn and they retain it, and I know its because of the way you teach it!

I have a brother who travels around the state with a Milestones of Freedom program where participants learn principles of freedom and get to experience a mini mock citizenship process. He frequently takes the program to schools. A couple of weeks ago he was at an elementary school in Vernal. He took a soldier with him who talked about her experiences as a soldier and what it means to her to defend her country. At the end of the program, the principal gave the students the oath of citizenship. She ended with , "so help me..." and just trailed off. Then they all sang a patriotic song. During the song the soldier asked my brother if she could say a few more words after the song. She did, and I will try to paraphrase , but I know I won't do it justice. She said, "When I took my oath to defend my country, I did it in the name of God. When you took your oath just now, there was a word left off by your principal. The real words are, 'so help me God.' Many people say that George Washington is the father of our country, but God is the real father of this country. As a soldier, that is who I serve. And any real soldier knows that that is who we serve..." I asked my brother what the principal did and he said that she left - went out into the hall.
I thought that story was incredible. He said that it isn't remotely incredible to him. He sees it all over the state. People are so afraid to even talk about God - even people who worship Him. And that fear is most apparent in our public schools. Thank you for practicing our freedom of speech to do as Nephi said in 2Ne 25:26, "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." Thank you for Liahona!!

My son actually graduated last year and began community college but he liked Brother DeGraff's so much that he begged us to let him take the class just one more year... It's a shame that Brother DeGraff can't clone himself and teach in every high school and college in America. He really is the BEST history teacher I have ever met.

To Liahona,
I can't believe how time flies and we find ourselves at the end of our journey with you. We love you all greatly and are so grateful for what you have given us as a family. I have strong children of faith not only outside of church but in their schooling. They stand so strong because of what has been taught to them by Brother DeGraff and Sister Wilburn.
Shelby is ready to move forward completely from the program even though she wishes to keep Sister Wilburn forever. Because of Sister Wilburn, Shelby wants to be a Literature Major. She has grammar skills like no other and corrects the newspaper for fun. This year she was asked to edit a piece for a well known local newspaper. Our favorite thing that Sister Wilburn taught us was the use of logical fallacies. This alone has opened our eyes so wide to the truth, its amazing. It has also ruined several movies for us. LOL. But we love it.
Kai needs to finish out the school year with Sister Wilburn. He wants to make sure he has all she has to offer before moving forward. Kai's love of history and seeing the hand of providence throughout time has brought him great joy and a love for World War II vets. He has had many great experiences with this generation and they love to hear him bear his testimony because they have a beautiful spiritual connection. Kai of course wants to be a history major and who knows, maybe he could come to Liahona in a few years and help Brother DeGraff!
Thanks for giving us the spirit everyday in our school. Thanks for the hours of laughter mostly at Brother Degraff's expense. We will never look at axes or eyeglasses the same. Thank you for the awesome quotes that re-enforced our faith and led us to know that we had made the right decision to homeschool our children. In a nutshell you saved us. How do you properly thank some one for that ?! The best we know how is to pay it forward and I believe my children will because of their education.
This is not good bye forever, we still have one more who is not quite old enough for Liahona. So nobody better think about retiring. I need you.
With much gratitude and love.

We just wanted to express our thoughts to you once again for providing this wonderful school for our kids. After seeing on TV some of the activities going on in our public schools, it was enough to make you sick to your stomach. But more than that, it makes us more grateful to be associated with wonderful people like you. May our Heavenly Father richly bless you for the good you are doing for His children.

This is about my daughter Emily. About two weeks ago, the first part of July, my family and I were attending a Fast and Testimony meeting in our Ward. It was a typical for our Ward, I had hoped that it being so close to Independence Day that more people would express their feelings about our freedoms, etc. I was disappointed in this hope, and of course I was also to blame for not standing. However, Emily who as I seldom ever gets up, did get up and I must tell you I don't remember hearing a more eloquent testimony of a love for the founding fathers and for our freedom, quoting parts of Patrick Henry's fiery speech, and thanking her Heavenly Father for these men.
I was choked up just by the power of her testimony alone, let alone that she was my daughter. The reason I tell you this story is because it was you who lit this fire in her and taught her the principles of freedom and God's law. I will ALWAYS be indebted to you. I promise you I will do all in my power to see that this love that she has for our freedom is nurtured.
Your friend,
Paul

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful school program you offer. This year has been a great experience for my two children who have been taking the freshman class! They have enjoyed learning and watching the videos, and I feel like their testimonies have grown stronger. It is such a blessing to have this program that incorporates their religious beliefs as part of their education. Thank you teachers for all your efforts and great teaching! Please keep up the great work!

Our daughter, Kaitlyn, just took a college assessment test. She scored 97 out of 99 on the English portion! We'd like to thank Sister Wilburn for preparing her so well. As parents, we're thankful that she does not dumb her students down. The hard work definitely pays off!

To Brother DeGraff: you have given our family a pride in our Anglo-Saxon heritage that we did not know about until your teachings. The knowledge we have gained about correct principles of free government has inspired me (mom) to run for town council. I see things in our local government that runs like a monarchy instead of a representation of the residents of our town. I would like to correct this. Thanks for the courage and inspiration.
To Sister Willburn: Our children and myself have truly learned from your class this year. Our daughter, Manike, particularly enjoyed your class. She has a deep interest in literature and theater, especially Shakespeare. I personally enjoyed learning where the English language came from. How can you be 43 years old and not know where your own language comes from? Thank you for making grammar so easy for my children.
To Janet in the office: Thank you for being so patient with me when I would call about a problem. Thank you also for helping us to be included in the Super Trip. You went the second mile when it came to helping our family. You are a great asset to the staff.

To the teachers and staff - I was blown away by the amount of work that you put into making the school a success. There are no schools (public or private) in Connecticut that can hold a candle to you. Your dedication, research, and faith are amazing. I know you get tired (who wouldn't?). I think even Superman would lay down his cape and retire if he met you! Please keep up your good works. Your light is shining on a small family, in a small town, way out here in Connecticut. We will pray for your continued success, and send you our love.
